Cagrilintide is a synthetic reference peptide analog of amylin with an added eicosanoic (C20 diacid) side chain allowing albumin binding. It is described in published literature as an agonist of heterodimeric amylin receptor complexes AMY1-3 (calcitonin receptor in combination with RAMPs).
Investigated biochemical pathways (academic context)
-
AMY1-3 receptor agonism: in-vitro binding assays on cloned AMY receptor complexes.
-
Receptor pharmacology: characterization of signaling cascades in isolated cell models.
-
Academic research area: referenced in studies of energy homeostasis regulation within the research area of metabolic diseases.
-
Extended pharmacokinetics: in-vitro models of albumin binding as a subject of pharmacokinetic research.
-
Combination studies: academic interest in synergy with GLP-1 agonists (e.g., the so-called CagriSema combination) at the level of in-vitro models.
Laboratory use and storage
